Welcome to the world of population health

As population and environment profiles change, new health issues place heavy strains on health and prevention services, and the demand for fresh approaches to healthcare and community responses increase. Our School of Population Health provides programmes to create leaders qualified to meet such challenges.

Whether in New Zealand or elsewhere in the world, now or in the future, within the healthcare sphere or in other areas that will impact the well-being of people, our graduates will be equipped with the knowledge and capacity to forge new pathways towards real solutions for disadvantaged populations in the face of change.

Our graduates become the critic and conscience of society regarding health and healthcare provision, providing a community voice on important health issues, programmes, strategies and policies, utilising acquired knowledge to contribute in reducing inequalities and inequities in health.

Our Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHSc) is a public health degree that will prepare you for a broad range of health-related careers. You can also study towards Postgraduate qualifications in a diverse range of areas including Public Health, Health Informatics, Audiology, Alcohol and Drug Studies, Addiction and Mental Health, General Practice and Primary Health Care, Palliative Care and Youth Health.
